I thought I would leave this portion of my old site here as well as putting in the new to kind of tell how I arrived where I am now.
Last year my clutch went out and the old might as well bug put me back about 1000.00. While the engine was out I looked at the head and it was in bad shape so I pulled it and had it magna fluxed. It was cracked at the no. 2 and 3 cylinders. So I went to find a head and actually found one at a local import shop for 400.00 completely rebuilt. I thought well why not check the cam.... new cam is now installed as well as lifters. Hey why don't you try converting over to dual row timing gear. and it went on till I just said NO!!!!!!!!
This is what I have done to this engine and compartment

I could not figure out why my feet were so hot. Well, a heater valve stuck open and forever corroded that way, as well as the heater control cable was disconnected behind the console. What to do? Well thank you Mr Muenchausen for this idea !!!!! The alternator was charging but it had a bad diode and the car wouldn't shut off without the ign. bulb removed. I was upset with the fading headlights so I found this on Bob's site as well. I live 3 miles from Hell (Yuma, Az) so a good fan is necessary!! the car runs 190 degrees even in stop and go traffic at 115 degrees. Thank you ebay for this forty dollar upgrade.
